Low Torque Metal Seated Ball Valve
A low torque metal seated ball valve is an industrial valve designed for efficient flow control with minimal operational effort and reduced environmental impact. It features a metal seat and a ball-shaped closure element that rotates to open or close the valve. The low torque design allows for easier operation, requiring less force to turn the handle or actuator, making it suitable for manual or automated control systems.
These valves are also designed to minimize fugitive emissions, which are unintentional leaks of gases or vapors that can harm the environment. They comply with stringent industry standards such as ISO 15848-1 and API 641, ensuring that emissions are kept to acceptable levels. This makes them an important part of emissions reduction strategies in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and power generation.
The metal seats in these valves are precisely machined and often coated with materials like Chromium Carbide or Stellite for superior corrosion and wear resistance. They provide a bubble-tight seal, ensuring zero leakage and maintaining a tight shut-off even under high pressure and temperature conditions. The use of live-loaded stem seals and advanced sealing systems further enhances their low emission performance.
